This candidate does not have a Democratic opponent and will therefore serve as the next Representative for this district.
A longtime community leader in House District 84, Tammy West will be a strong conservative voice for our neighborhoods as our next State Representative.
“As a conservative, I believe we must focus on being fiscally responsible in our state budgeting while ensuring the fundamental core services are prioritized and properly funded.”
DEEP ROOTS Tammy has lived in House District 84 since 1980. She raised all three of her children here. She and her husband of 35 years, Jon, are active in Tanglewood West Neighborhood Watch Association. The Wests are members of Council Road Baptist Church, where Jon is a deacon.
SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSWOMAN Tammy has owned and operated Wellness Plus for more than 20 years and is an independent distributor for The Juice Plus Company. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from Central State University (now UCO) in Edmond. Tammy’s family roots are also in the oil business. Her grandfather and father both worked in the oil industry, and her husband Jon has a petroleum engineering degree from the University of Tulsa. He is sales manager for Burleson Pump Company where he has worked for the past 20 years.
EDUCATION AND CIVIC LEADER Tammy was Parent Teacher Student Association president at Lake Park Elementary, Western Oaks Middle School, and Putnam City West High School. Tammy was first elected as the District 4 member on the Putnam City School Board in 2009 and reelected in 2014. Both times she was unopposed. She has regularly visited every school in the district and developed relationships with school employees and parents. Her three children graduated from Putnam City West High School.
COMMITTED CHRISTIAN AND LIFELONG REPUBLICAN Tammy is a lifelong conservative Republican who has been active in her local Republican Women’s Club. A committed Christian, Tammy is strongly pro-life. She is also an ardent supporter of the Second Amendment and a member of the National Rifle Association.
