Biography

Ronny Johns, Principal of Ada Junior High School, is running for House District 25. In his announcement, Johns said, “I see what is going on at the Capitol, and I feel like I could make a difference. I think people feel disenfranchised with the current political climate and want to see representation that will listen to their voice and their concerns. That will be my focus. We all may not agree all the time, but you should always feel like you have a voice at the Capitol.”

Johns was born and raised in Ada, and is a graduate of Byng High School and East Central University. A passionate educator, Johns continued, “I have been teaching, coaching, and involved in the Ada School System for the last 31 years. Education runs in my blood; my parents were both educators for decades, my wife is in education, and now my daughter has followed and is a Counselor at Ada High. I am extremely proud to be a family focusing on educating our youth.”

When asked about measures to fix our State’s issues, Johns explains, “I want to find long-term solutions for the problems Oklahomans face today. We need to step up and do what it takes to fix the large crisis that has become our Capitol. We must find the solution for issues that our citizens face, issues like the illegal and prescription drug problem that are tearing families apart. This is a big problem in District 25, and I feel like it’s time we start to take real action.”
Ronny is married to Renee. Together they have three children: their daughter Ali is a Counselor at Ada High School and her husband Blake, WOM Planning Manager at the Chickasaw Nation; son Quaid is an attorney, currently serving as Head of the Social Security & Disability Department at Kirkendall Dwyer LLP in Dallas, Texas; and daughter Jacy is the Senior Events Manager at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in OKC. Ronny and Renee have two precious grandchildren, and attend church at Central Church of Christ, where Ronny serves as Church Elder, Sunday School teacher, and Worship Leader.
