Missy Washington (she/her/hers) is a dedicated Educator, Historian, and socially engaged creative professional. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in History from the University of Oklahoma and now combines her passions for teaching, advocacy, and art. Currently a full-time Special Education teacher and Graduate Research Assistant for the Oklahoma Black Homesteader Project, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Museum Studies.
Outside the classroom, she owns a graphic design business, leveraging her artistic talents and social media following to highlight injustices and promote causes close to her heart. She is also actively involved in The Listening Project, an oral history initiative with the OU Honors College that amplifies voices and preserves lived experiences through storytelling.
