Each year brings a new set of challenges, and 2012 was no exception. In 2012, CAIR Oklahoma’s
staff and board continued their commitment to serving the Oklahoma Muslim community and
building bridges of understanding and acceptance for individuals of all faiths. As we look to the
coming year, let us remind ourselves of the example of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who had a
dream of equality, brotherhood, and justice for all Americans. This dream is still very much alive
in the minds and hearts of Oklahoma Muslims and a dream that CAIR Oklahoma will continue
to work towards in carrying on the legacy of civil rights leaders.

CAIR Oklahoma continues to grow as an organization serving our community, and 2012 was a
testament to that growth. In the past year CAIR Oklahoma has welcomed new staff and board
members, established new programs and initiatives while continuing the success of previously
established programs, and furthered the pursuit of protecting civil liberties for not only
Oklahoma Muslims, but all Oklahomans regardless of faith, race, ethnicity, or gender.
As we reflect upon the accomplishments of this past year, we must also recognize that there is
still much work to be done. CAIR Oklahoma’s team is committed to working to defend the
rights of Oklahomans through its ongoing advocacy work. Our commitment is to work harder
and smarter on your behalf and to not rest until Oklahoma is a place where discrimination no
longer exists.
