Art in the Heartland Series-Celebrating Art and Creativity of Oklahoma Muslims

In 2011, CAIR Oklahoma debuted the inaugural Art in the Heartland exhibition that celebrated visual and musical arts and creativity in Oklahoma while capturing scenes and expressions of what it means to be an Oklahoman and Muslim.

This annual, free series features photography, calligraphy, mixed media paintings, and more and provides an avenue for Oklahomans of all backgrounds to come together and recognize, as well as appreciate diverse influences and perspectives in our state. After having such great success as well as growing interest and increasing artist participation in Oklahoma City since 2011, Art in the Heartland will also be exhibited in Tulsa in Fall 2013, and continue expanding to more cities in the future.
