What: 2013 Religions United Interfaith Youth Tour hosted by the Religions United Committee of the Oklahoma Conference of Churches
When: Sunday, September 22, 2013
Where: Starting location – Temple B’Nai Israel, 4901 N. Pennsylvania Oklahoma City, OK 73112
Who: All Oklahoma youth grades 7 and up!

We are thrilled to announce the details of the 2013 Interfaith Youth Tour organized by the Religious United Committee of the Oklahoma Conference of Churches.

In each of the last two years, we have had more than 160 young people (Grade 7 and above) participating in these tours. We are expecting a similar number this year and have hired two large buses to accommodate the tour, plus we will be using church vans for additional participants.

Among this year’s highlights is the fact that September 22, the date of our tour, coincides with the Jewish Sukkot (Feast of Booth/Festival of Tabernacles) and we will be able to see some of the temporary “booths,” recalling the sukkot (“huts”) in which the Israelites lived in the wilderness during the exodus from Egypt.

The tour will commence at Temple B’Nai Israel, 4901 N. Pennsylvania Oklahoma City, OK 73112. Registration is at 1:00 p.m. The program, including visiting the Sukkot, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Cars may be left in the parking lot and the buses will return to Temple B’Nai Israel at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Next we will visit the Sikh community’s new Gurdwara (House of Worship) at 4525 NW 16th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73127.

The third house of worship to be visited is Frontline Church in Oklahoma City at 1104 N. Robinson Ave. OKC, OK 73103. Frontline is a contemporary church operating out of what was once the stately First Christian Church in downtown Oklahoma City. They have a vital and fast-growing youth program.

Transportation and snacks are included in the registration cost of $15.00 per person.
