The banquet will be headlined by American Muslim scholar Imam Suhaib Webb, an Oklahoma native who now serves as the resident scholar for Make Space in Washington D.C. and is renowned as a leading voice of Islam in America.

In addition to our headline speaker, this year’s banquet includes Nihad Awad, the Executive Director of the national Council on American-Islamic Relations; comedian Baba Ali, whose YouTube blog catapulted him into international acclaim; and imams from around the state. The speakers will focus on this year’s theme, “Rooted in Faith, Growing Through Service,” to emphasize the expanding services that CAIR-OK provides and the ways in which Muslims serve their American communities.

“The last 12 months have been some of the most challenging for Oklahoma’s Muslim community with the rise of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hate rhetoric in our state,” said CAIR-OK Executive Director Adam Soltani. “At our annual banquet we will reflect on how our community came together and challenged hatred, bigotry, and racism with love, peace, and compassion.”

CAIR-OK is a chapter of America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
