Large interfaith and community effort: Winter Coat/Gear Drive and Distribution

In winter 2022, CAIR Oklahoma created a network of 20 interfaith and community groups to participate in our Winter Coat and Gear Drive, providing warm coats, hats, scarves, gloves, and socks for the entire Afghan community that resettled in the Oklahoma City Metro area. We worked with Operation Warm, a non-profit that gives coats at cost to provide warmth, confidence, and hope through basic need programs that connect underserved kids to community resources needed to thrive.

This network of partnerships and its impact on 1000+ Afghan Oklahomans is just one example of how CAIR Oklahoma builds relationships in the community to accomplish more than we can do on our own – we have created a large interfaith and community network that is eager to provide support financially, through in-kind donations, and in volunteer service.
