(OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, 6/17/2020) – The Oklahoma Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) today announced the release of its 2020 Candidate Primary Voting Guides covering candidates running for Oklahoma’s House and Senate districts. This guide does not cover all candidates across the state, but does cover candidates living in and around all parts of the state where there is an Islamic Center, Islamic School, or where a majority of Muslims reside.

“These guides are a comprehensive resource for citizens to feel educated and confident that the candidates they vote for align most closely with their own values,” said Government Affairs Director Lani R. Habrock. “We hope this latest resource will encourage and empower more citizens to vote in the upcoming primary on June 30th.”

The Primary Voter Guides provide information about how to find if one is registered to vote, how to find one’s district and polling station, and to learn biographical information and the stances of many candidates in districts surrounding mosques and Islamic centers. These guides are intended to be used as an educational tool and do not endorse any individual candidate.

“Though many may struggle this year to access their right to vote, we hope this guide helps empower and encourage more citizens to cast their ballot either by mail or in person,” Habrock said.
