(OKLAHOMA CITY, OK, 6/15/2022) – The Oklahoma Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) today announced the launch of its 2022 Okie Muslim Voter Portal in advance of the June 28th Primary Election. The portal contains guides on absentee voting, knowing which house or senate district you live in, and detailed profiles of all candidates in the primary election. The goal of the Okie Muslim Voter Portal is to provide the Oklahoma Muslim community with all the tools and resources they need to be informed voters when they show up to the polls.

“Our voter guides have become a resource for the Muslim community, and the Oklahoma community at large, to learn which candidates align most closely with their values and to vote accordingly,” said Civil Rights Director Veronica Laizure. “We are proud that we have been able to offer these resources ahead of the major elections and increase educated voter turnout across the state.”

Our voter portal will continue to be updated throughout the 2022 election season with expanded categories of candidate profiles for the November general election.

Note: Our voting information and guides are intended to be used as an educational tool and do not endorse any individual candidate.

“Although many struggle with understanding the offices up for election and knowing which candidates they agree with, we hope our guide can increase voter turnout and encourage voters to make educated choices about the fate of their community.”

CAIR-OK is a chapter of America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Our mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
