The program will focus on education on the 2016 State Questions and will include a panel and directed conversation on State Question 790. Panelists include: ACLU of Oklahoma’s Allie Shinn, CAIR Oklahoma’s Adam Soltani, and the former Executive Director of Mainstream Oklahoma Baptists Bruce Prescott.

“We want to connect with folks who are first time voters as well as folks who have been voting consistently,” said Anna Facci, CAIR-OK’s Events and Operations Coordinator. “This event is about reminding people that there’s much more than just the presidential election on the ballot and that participation in state and local elections is the easiest way to have a direct impact on the future of the community.”

CAIR-OK will also be releasing the CAIR-OK 2016 Voter Guide. The 2016 Muslim Voter Guide includes a letter from CAIR-OK staff encouraging community members to vote against SQ 790; information about all of the State Questions on the ballot, including CAIR-OK’s voting recommendations; how to simplify the voting process; frequently asked questions about voting; and a sample ballot.
