Ty Burns

Biography

This candidate does not have a Democratic opponent and will therefore serve as the next Representative for this district.

With a military, education and law enforcement background, Ty Burns is all about honesty, integrity and leadership. He lives by the U.S. Army’s core values, and teaches those values to his five children and countless others on the playing field and in the classroom.

Ty grew up on the outskirts of Pawnee, running the creeks with his brother. Ty and his wife, Staci, are raising their five children in much the same way – hunting, fishing, feeding cows, riding horses, sharing life with dogs, cats, and a potbellied pig. Ty is a coach and teacher in Ponca City Public Schools.

Ty isn’t just a hero at home, he’s also the recipient of several medals for service to our country. He deployed twice with the Oklahoma Army National Guard, once to Iraq and once to Afghanistan. He is the recipient of a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and the Combat Infantry Badge.

A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Ty is running for state representative because he believes it is a calling on his life. It’s a natural progression from a life spent serving – in the military, in law enforcement, in the classroom. It’s Ty’s time to make a difference in the House.
