Biography

Sam has close family connections to the Veterans community. His father served in the US Army, surviving World War II’s climactic Battle of the Bulge, while his uncle, a US Naval Academy graduate and aviator, was lost at sea during the Korean conflict. His son served in the US Air Force.

Sam knows that service members need improved mental health support and workforce placement assistance as they transition to civilian life. He believes that the Veterans Administration needs continuing support and improvement, and he resolutely opposes privatization of the VA. As a member of the State Senate, he will support full funding of the Oklahoma National Guard and will assist Veterans and active-duty members and their families in receiving all the benefits they deserve.
