Biography

Prior to running for office, Ross proudly served his community as a Tulsa police officer for over 25 years. During his time as an officer, Ross was tasked with many responsibilities including being a patrol officer in all areas of Tulsa, protecting the Tulsa airport, being a Dare and community relations officer. For more than 25 years Ross Ford served his community, during those years of service he spent more than 12 years assigned to the Police Motorcycle unit. Officer Ford taught drivers training for nearly 10 years and was the unit training coordinator for 5 years. Ross did not just spend his entire career on patrol, he was also an investigator in the detective division and a divisional equipment officer. Tragedy struck on March 27, 2007 when Ross was injured in the line of duty. While on patrol, Officer Ford’s motorcycle was struck by another vehicle. Ross survived the crash and after his recovery he continued to serve the police department for three more years until he retired. Ross Ford was highly decorated for his service to the Tulsa community. During his service to the Tulsa Police Department, Ross earned a Medal of Valor, Purple Heart, Survivors Club Award, several Top Cop awards and two Chief Awards.

Upon leaving the police force in 2010, Ross was employed by Union Public Schools as Director of Security and by Holland Hall private school as Director of Security. In 2015, Ross created LNR Safety Plus LLC, a private company that provides security and other services to senior citizens in our community. Ross Ford is a 4th generation Tulsa native, who is committed to improving the lives of people in our community. Ross met his beautiful wife, Lisa, in the 9th grade at the age of 14. They dated through high school and have been married ever since. Together they have a daughter, Kasey, and son, Ryan. Ross and Lisa are also blessed with their grandson, Reece. Ross is still very active in the Tulsa and Broken Arrow communities. He is a member of the Broken Arrow Rotary Club and the Broken Arrow Civitan Club. Ross is also a community activist and volunteer at Union Public Schools, the Broken Arrow Police Department, the Tulsa Police Officer Memorial committee, and the Broken Arrow senior center. Ross is also a graduate of Leadership Broken Arrow.
