Biography

Born and raised on the family farm, Matt has spent a lifetime serving Cherokee County. A graduate of Hulbert High School, he lives in Hulbert with his wife, Janet, and four kids. For over a decade, Matt has worked with his dad and brother at Ron Meredith Insurance Agency, helping working families gain access to affordable insurance.

Matt served as a deputy sheriff and investigator for the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department under Sheriff Norman Fisher. He knows the problems facing law enforcement and has seen families torn apart by substance abuse and addiction. As a member of the Hulbert Board of Education, Matt experienced firsthand the challenges faced by local public schools, school administrators, educators, staff, and students.

Matt is on the Board of Directors for the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce, attends First Baptist Church in Hulbert, and a proud life-long Cherokee County resident.
