John Kane

Biography

John Kane is multi-generational cattle rancher, business owner and fighter for Oklahoma’s conservative values. Born and raised in Bartlesville, he followed in the footsteps of many generations of his family when he attended to University of Kansas. He followed his undergraduate degree with a certificate from Texas Christian University’s School of Ranch Management. After beginning a career in banking, he had an opportunity to move home and begin a cattle-ranching operation with his father, which he now operates with his son.

As a business owner for more than 35 years, he knows first-hand the difficulties of balancing the books, making payroll, and signing both sides of the check. John and his wife Barbara have a combined 5 children, and all seven of their grandchildren live in Bartlesville. For both John and Barbara, community involvement is a natural part of their lives, and it all begins with their church, Grace Community Church in Bartlesville, and it ends with leaving a better community for the next generation. After years of volunteering and being involved with many community organizations, John was appointed to the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Commission by Governor Stitt.
