(TULSA, OK 11/10/2016) – The Oklahoma Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) announces their first ever Tulsa Celebration Gala on Friday, Nov. 11, to commemorate their organization’s 10th anniversary and to honor individuals who have contributed to the success of the community and the state.

“We are thrilled to bring an event of this scale to Tulsa to celebrate ten years of advocacy for the Muslim community by CAIR Oklahoma. The evening’s speakers will all focus on the Our Faith, Our Future theme, and will hopefully inspire the Muslim community to push forward without fear during these difficult times,” said Anna Facci, CAIR-OK Operations and Events Coordinator.

Featured at the banquet will be Mana Tahaie, Director of Mission Impact at YWCA Tulsa; Imam John Ederer, Senior Imam of the Islamic Society of Tulsa; and Adam Soltani, CAIR-OK Executive Director.

The keynote speaker for the evening will be Linda Sarsour, a Brooklyn-born Muslim activist and advocate of racial justice and civil rights. Sarsour is the Executive Director of the Arab American Association of New York and is known for her focus on intersectional movement building.

Also featured at the event will be standup comedian Jeremy McClellan, who has performed for audiences across the country. He is based in Charleston, SC, and his humor is noted for his political and social commentary.
