The second Congressional recess of 2017 begins today and Congresspeople from around the country are returning to their districts to meet with their constiuents. After the lacking number of town halls during the winter recess, I wanted to make sure you know who is – and isn’t – holding town halls in the next two weeks.

Last week, I asked you to call Congressman Steve Russell’s office and ask him why he refuses to hold a town hall in Oklahoma City. Congressman Russell’s office still hasn’t planned any public events for the next two weeks, though his schedule of private events for businessmen seems to be filling quickly. If Congressman Russell has time for business interests, shouldn’t he make time for us too?

Unfortunately, Congressman Russell isn’t alone. Our elected leaders should serve ALL of their district – not just the parts that agree with them. Check the list below to see who is hosting a town hall.

Senator James Lankford:
Senator Lankford has town halls planned Monday, April 10 through Friday April 21 in Oklahoma City, Eufaula, Stillwater, Claremore, Broken Arrow, Barlesville, and Norman. Note: You must pre-register for the Oklahoma City and Broken Arrow town halls. For more information, visit Senator Lankford’s website.

Never called your congressperson before? Here’s a call script to help guide you!

“Hi, my name is [ ] and I’m a constituent of the district. My address is [ ]. I heard that Congressman [OR] Senator [ ] was going to be in town during the recess and I am calling to ask if he is planning to hold a town hall while he is here. I would like to talk to him about what is going on in Washington.”
