My name is Mary Rahimi, and I am a CAIR legal intern for Summer 2019. I am a second year law student at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, and I’m interested in practicing civil rights or immigration law. I graduated with my Bachelors in Health and Exercise Science from OU in 2016. I heard about CAIR in my first week of law school, and I’m glad that two years later I am able to work with them! Being a daughter of two immigrants, I’ve learned how to appreciate all the opportunities I have in Oklahoma, and I want to teach the community how to see the world through other perspectives. I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all religions and ethnicities in Oklahoma. I will graduate May 2020, and hope to stay in Oklahoma to practice immigration law.
CAIR Oklahoma is proud to launch the Omar al-Farooq Legal Fellowship Program, which brings some of the top law students to work at the Civil Rights Department. Special Thanks to Fellowship Patron Mikael Bryant!
