Lani R. Habrock is a graduate of The King’s College of NYC. She has her bachelors in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. As a former business owner, she learned the people who make the biggest difference in our state are simply the ones who show up. So, in 2014 she made a run for Oklahoma State House. As a candidate, she had the opportunity to talk to Oklahomans at their doorsteps and learn of their frustrations and fears. Although she did not win the election, she gained valuable insight into the personal needs of constituents and discovered that what Oklahoma needs most is more bridge-builders. After this experience, she shut down her business and devoted her time to advocating on behalf of the dismissed, the voiceless, and the disenfranchised.
Lani served as the KIDS COUNT Director at the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy for three years until she joined CAIR Oklahoma as the Government Affairs Director in 2018. She is honored to have the opportunity to serve Oklahoma’s Muslim community in working toward a more just, accepting, and equitable Oklahoma for all.
