My name is Kadijah Almarales, and I am a second year law student at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. For Summer 2019, I have the opportunity to gain experience in Civil Rights Advocacy as a legal intern with CAIR OKlahoma. As an immigrant who emigrated to the United States from Trinidad and Tobago I understand the importance of attorneys advocating for underrepresented groups such as immigrants, minorities, and people of color to ensure that their civil liberties are protected and not abused. Inspired to serve these communities, it is my professional goal as a practicing attorney to advocate for underrepresented communities, following graduation from law school in the fields of civil rights or immigration law.
CAIR Oklahoma is proud to launch the Omar al-Farooq Legal Fellowship Program, which brings some of the top law students to work at the Civil Rights Department. Special Thanks to Fellowship Patron Mikael Bryant!
