Faija Islam is a second-year law student at the Oklahoma City University School of Law. She is the treasurer of Phi Alpha Delta and the American Bar Association organizations at her school. She is also the member of the Organization for the Advancement of Women in Law and the Animal Law Group. She participated in Vaught Chapter’s mock trial team.
Faija graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2018 with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in accounting, finance, and entrepreneurship. During her undergraduate career, Faija was the vice president of finance for a start-up company through the integrated business core program. Faija maintained finances and assisted the start-up company in donating all profits to Camp Kesem. She also held a leadership position in the Women of Business Association where she helped organize a Women’s Day event at the University. Faija was a semi-finalist in the Love’s Cup Growth Undergrad Division competition. She had the opportunity to study abroad in Italy and Brazil during her time at OU.
Prior to starting law school, Faija worked as a sales representative and a universal banker where she learned how to create and maintain client relations. Faija currently volunteers with Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and has volunteered at Full Circle Adult Day Center and OU Big Event. Faija is passionate about helping the Muslim community and is excited to use her legal knowledge in advocating for their rights.
