Amira Ourani is a Palestinian-American Muslim born in Brooklyn, New York. She is currently 17 years old and a senior at Mercy School while concurrently enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Amira has volunteered with CAIR Oklahoma before, and is now interning under the Community Outreach department. Amira has also volunteered for other non-profit organizations such as the Surraya Anne Foundation and the Islamic Council of Oklahoma. This past year, Amira organized a basketball tournament with the Islamic Council of Oklahoma Youth and brought a former NBA player to host a basketball camp for kids in Oklahoma City. Amira loves to plan and organize events and hopes to make a change in her community one event at a time.
