Biography

Lonnie Sims has been a dedicated servant in the Tulsa, Jenks and Glenpool communities for many years volunteering in both elected and non-elected capacities. Lonnie is a founding board member of James Mission, a non-profit dedicated to the support of foster children, widows and at-risk families in NE Oklahoma. Lonnie has also served on various regional authorities and boards including the Arkansas River Task Force, Cities United, Tulsa County Vision Authority and is a current member of the Indian Nation Council of Governments (INCOG) Board of Directors helping to empower local communities. Locally in Jenks, Lonnie has been President of his neighborhood association for 12 years; Jenks Planning Commissioner for 6 years; Jenks City Councilman for 8 years and Mayor of Jenks from 2013-2015.

Lonnie and his wife Lea Ann have been happily married for over 17 years. They have a 16-year-old daughter, Laney, who is a Sophomore at Bishop Kelley and are host parents to Yilin Lyu, a Chinese international student completing her Senior year at Victory Christian School. Lonnie is a graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and currently operates a successful fire and safety business, SGI Fire & Safety – a Jenks Chamber of Commerce Member. Lonnie and his family are active members of Victory Christian Center.
