Biography

“I’m Larry Bush and I’m ready to serve you, the residents of District 62, in the Oklahoma House of Representatives the same way I’ve been serving you here at home as an insurance agent for over 10 years.

My line of work involves helping people in their time of need. My experience as a business owner and serving our community is a reflection of my love for God and a deep commitment to my friends, neighbors, and our state.

I know that I could be a very effective leader in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Also, I am committed to open and effective communication with you, the constituents.

We need a proven leader with experience, who believes in teamwork that unites people.

I am ready, willing, and able to be that leader for you, the residents of District 62. You deserve a voice in the Oklahoma House that reflects what you care about and what your concerns are. Platform Issues

Education

We must stop cuts to our education system. We must build our public school system so that our children are blessed with the opportunities and tools they need for success. Our kids’ education and saving their teachers’ jobs are worth fighting for, and I am ready to go to battle for this most precious asset, our children.

The State Budget

Our budget deficit currently sits at $1.3 billion and it continues to increase. This is unacceptable. We must diversify our revenues and become less dependent on oil and gas.

Health Care

My grandmother has always told me that next to your relationship with God and your family your health is the most important thing in your life. Oklahoma has more than 170,000 people without insurance leaving hospitals and other health care providers with the rising cost of care. We must accept Medicaid expansion. Not to do so is frankly cruel and unjust to those who need help the most. We must send a message to Oklahomans that we care about. I will do everything in my power to ensure that message of caring is sent.

Criminal Justice Reform

Oklahoma spends $500 million dollars a year and has the highest incarceration rate in the country and is the #1 jailer of women. We need to evaluate the elimination of mandatory minimum prison sentences and evaluate steering non-violent drug offenders into rehabilitation programs instead of prison. I will continue to meet with you and listen to you. That is my reason for running– to be your voice. You deserve this kind of representation.
