John Haste

Biography

John was born in Arkansas, raised in West Tennessee and now lives in Broken Arrow, OK (just outside Tulsa.) He attended the University of Tennessee – Martin. He is Senior Vice President of Business Development for Surya, an industry leading Home Furnishings Company. In 2010, John received a Pro Tempore appointment to the Oklahoma State University Medical Authority and Trust, where he has served as Vice Chairman and Chairman. He was Chairman when he resigned to take his oath of office as an Oklahoma State Senator in November of 2018. Within the Oklahoma Senate, John serves as the Senate Sub-Appropriations Chair for General Government and Transportation. He also serves on the Appropriations, Health and Human Services, General Government and Transportation Standing Committees.

During the interim, John has been appointed to the America Rescue Plan Act Committee and within the Committee, Co-Chair of the Sub-Appropriations Working Group for Health and Human Services and the Steering Committee. He has also been appointed as Co-Chair of the Concurrent Enrollment Task Force and as a member of the Road Users Charge Committee. In addition, John serves on the Executive Board of FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) for Northeast Oklahoma and as National Co-Chair for the International Home Furnishings Board for the City of Hope. Previously he served as Vice Chairman of the Home and Gift Board of Advisors for AmericasMart in Atlanta, Georgia.

John is married to Jennifer. They are members and actively serve at First Baptist Church – Broken Arrow. They have one son, Nate and daughter-in-law, Camille and grand-puppy Ella.
