MUSLIM STANCE ON TERRORISM

One of the most frequent questions that American Muslims hear is “Why don’t Muslims condemn terrorism and terrorists?” The list below is proof that this question is not only misguided, but also a false implication. In fact Muslims have condemned terror and those who commit terrorism in the name of Islam, consistently and unequivocally. Unfortunately the voices of the Muslim Community have been largely ignored and drowned out by the media, rampant Islamophobia, and terrorists themselves.

CAIR CONDEMNS TERRORISM. Acts of intolerance and violence are in opposition to our organization’s mission to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

Terrorism and those who commit terrorism are not a reflection of Islam or Muslims, and the Muslim Community has been loud and clear in stating this basic truth.
