ABOUT

The core mission of the Muslim Youth Leadership Symposium (MYLS) is to:

Provide American Muslim youth with a proactive agenda for positive activism
Empower American Muslim youth to guide their communities from the margins to the mainstream
Foster a healthy American Muslim identity that fits comfortably within a pluralistic American society

MYLS encourages American Muslim youth to proactively define themselves in order to combat the negative perceptions of Islam that have become a part of the mainstream discourse. Through a series of workshops, debates, and collaborations, MYLS provides high school seniors and college students with the tools to advance both professionally and spiritually.

LOCATION

Oklahoma City University will be the host site of MYLS 2012. Participants will stay at the Centenial Dorms, and MYLS workshops and activities will be held inside the Oklahoma City University School of Music, and the Oklahoma State Captiol.
