(Oklahoma City, OK 9/21/11) - In a recent report by Wired.com, leaked FBI documents revealed the use of biased, inaccurate, and bigoted training materials about Muslims and counter-terrorism. The trainer hired by the FBI told officers that the Prophet Muhammad was a "cult leader" and that the Islamic obligation to give charity was nothing more than a "funding mechanism for combat." The particular trainer in the leaked documents has also claimed in the past that "Muhammad's mindset is the source for terrorism."

FBI headquarters responded by alleging this was a "one time only" event, and the trainer's services ended in April 2011. However a recent report by Wired.com proves that the same trainer gave an equally biased presentation more recently at another FBI event.

In response, CAIR-Oklahoma has written an open letter to the local office of the FBI to assure these trainings have been successfully halted and will be prevented in the future.

CAIR has consistently called on the Obama administration, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, and Congress to provide oversight for apparently widespread anti-Muslim bias in the training of law enforcement, security and military personnel nationwide. We believe good training leads to good investigations, while biased training only leads to biased investigations.
