[ Muneer Awad ] Executive Director
Muneer is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in 2006, and a Juris Doctorate in 2009. He has volunteered and interned with numerous human rights and civil liberties organizations, including the ACLU, the Legal Aid Society, Muslim Advocates, and the South Asian Human Rights Documentation Centre. After law school he helped start an international renewable energy company providing solar-powered equipment in developing countries. In 2010 he moved to Oklahoma to serve as the Executive Director of the local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Muneer has organized Islamophobia workshops for the largest media institutions of Oklahoma, and he has arranged discussions about Islamophobia and Sharia at universities and law schools across the nation. In 2011, Muneer Awad was named the recipient of the Tulsa Metropolitan Ministries Russell Bennett recognition, which recognizes people who provide courageous social justice leadership in Oklahoma.
[ Nazia Khan ] Operations Coordinator
Nazia was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma. In 2010 she graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Middle Eastern Studies . During college, Nazia worked on local political campaigns and conducted research with Middle Eastern scholar Dr. Mark Tessler. After serving as the business director of LEAD Magazine, Nazia developed an interest in finance, and communications. After learning of an opportunity at CAIR-Oklahoma, Nazia promptly returned home in hopes of reconnecting with the community in Oklahoma and creating positive change through CAIR.

[ Razi Hashmi ] Executive Director 2007-2010
Razi Hashmi, is the Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Oklahoma (CAIR- OK). CAIR is a grassroots civil rights advocacy group whose mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.! Since 2007, he has developed relations with the media, interfaith leaders, government officials, educators, law enforcement, and various other civic leaders to further the mission of CAIR. Hashmi was born and raised in West Hartford, CT and graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies focusing in the Middle East and a minor in Philosophy.
[ Huda Abdul-Razak ] Operations Coordinator 2009-2010
Huda was born in Chicago and raised in South Texas. While studying biomedical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, she developed an interest in filmmaking after taking a communication course. Recognizing film's potential to inspire social change, Huda decided to pursue an additional certification in digital arts and media. In the spring of 2009, she directed and wrote her first short documentary "History Matters" about the recent attacks on Gaza, and on September 19, 2009, the film was screened in the 25th Annual Boston Film Festival at Kendall Square Theater.
In addition to her film interests, Huda was very involved in her Muslim community as a member of the Muslim Students Association and two-time elected president of the Society for Islamic Awareness. After college she hoped to combine her two passions to help strengthen the Muslim society through outreach,media studies and production, and social activism. In July of 2009, Huda moved to Oklahoma City with her husband Azhar Sheraze and learned of the opportunity to work for , recognizing that it was a great way to serve the community.
